Duties include:

Management - directly or indirectly supervising
19 staff members, including direct supervision and evaluation
of 7 full-time staff in the areas of UNIX systems, mainframe
services, microcomputer services, and research support services;

Budget - serving as primary budget authority for student
microcomputing lab operations; performing planning and analysis,
and make purchasing recommendations for a Mainframe services
budget, and a UNIX systems budget; managing multiple software
and hardware license and support contracts for server and
microcomputer platforms;

Networking - serving as project manager for student Internet
services (population 25,000), with client server implentations of
IMAP, IMSP, SMTP, and LDAP protocols; acting as the official Internet
domain enterprise representative;

Technical Support - providing technical consultation support in
the areas of mainframe and UNIX programming, data management,
electronic mail, and Internet services.

System Management - providing UNIX system management for
multi-user UNIX servers supporting research and instruction.
1992-1997:
Assistant Director of Academic Computing Services,
University of North Texas Computing Center
Duties included managing Academic Mainframe User Services,
office operations, and microcomputer lab budget and personnel; serving as primary
wide area network consultant (BITNET and Internet); teaching Computing Center
instructional courses; serving as Associate Editor of Benchmarks, the Computing
Center news periodical; active involvement in campus-wide computing issues through
participation in committees appointed by the Provost and Information Resources
Council.
1991-1992:
Acting Director of Academic Computing Services,
University of North Texas Computing Center
Duties included managing the Academic Computing Services full
and part-time staff; providing management and technical leadership for all central
computing systems, including the IBM-compatible mainframe, DEC VAX/VMS, and
UNIX host systems; active involvement in campus-wide computing issues through
participation in committees appointed by the Provost and Information Resources
Council.
1989-1991:
Academic Mainframe User Services Manager,
University of North Texas Computing Center
Duties included managing a working group consisting of three
full-time and six part-time employees, acting as system coordinator for the MUSIC
and CMS operating systems, consulting on use of the Academic Mainframe systems
and related topics, teaching Computing Center training courses, performing
budgetary planning for the Academic Mainframe system, and coordinating the
acquisition and/or installation of new mainframe hardware and software. Also serve as
the BITNET Information Representative and Associate Editor for Benchmarks, the
Computing Center Newsletter.
1988-1989:
MUSIC and CMS Systems Coordinator and Graphics Lab Manager,
University of North Texas Computing Center
Duties included managing six part-time employees,
acting as system coordinator for the MUSIC and CMS operating systems, consulting
on use of the Academic Mainframe systems, PCs, and Macintoshes, teaching
Computing Center training courses, performing budgetary planning for the Graphics
Lab, and coordinating the acquisition and/or installation of new Graphics lab
hardware and software. Also served as the BITNET Information Representative and
Associate Editor for Benchmarks, the Computing Center Newsletter.
1987-1988:
MUSIC/SP System Coordinator,

Duties included acting as system coordinator for the MUSIC operating system,
consulting on use of the Academic Mainframe systems and PCs, and teaching
